3Wire RS2MQTTx is a compact industrial-grade 4G IoT gateway designed to connect serial-based devices such as PLCs, meters and sensors to cloud-based IoT platforms. As a streamlined version of the RS2MQTT series, RS2MQTTx offers essential IoT gateway features in a smaller form factor for space-constrained and cost-sensitive installations. It supports data transmission over 2G / 4G networks using MQTT or HTTP POST, with internal cache memory and watchdog operation for reliable field deployment. Many industrial and commercial sites need to collect data from RS-485 devices but do not have reliable LAN or WiFi access at every metering point. RS2MQTTx solves this by using 2G / 4G mobile network connectivity to send serial device data directly to cloud platforms. It is especially useful for remote meters, branch sites, small panels, retrofit monitoring points and locations where wired communication is difficult or costly. Supports data transmission over GPRS / LTE networks for cloud-based monitoring without fixed LAN dependency. Transmits field data to IoT platforms using MQTT or HTTP POST protocols. Connects RS-485 serial devices such as meters, PLCs and sensors through a 3.5mm terminal block. Includes one RS-485 serial port using a 3.5mm terminal block with 485A, 485B and GND signal lines. Supports 2G / 4G communication for remote data transmission to cloud platforms. Suitable for IoT platforms and brokers that use MQTT for lightweight telemetry data transfer. Can transmit collected device data to cloud systems using HTTP POST where required. Stores up to 800 data records to help protect data integrity during temporary network outages. Watchdog operation supports stable and uninterrupted gateway performance in field applications. Uses Micro SIM card format with 3V / 1.8V support. Nano SIM is not supported. Suitable for 35mm DIN rail installation in electrical panels and compact industrial enclosures. Includes a push-button reset function for one-touch factory reset. Includes SYS, WORK, 4G LINK, TCP LINK, TXD and RXD indicators for local operation status checking. Uses a 50Ω SMA Female antenna interface and supports stick antenna or suction cup antenna. Default antenna type is suction cup. Power is connected through a 3.5mm terminal input, making it suitable for panel-based installation. Uses flame-retardant alloy plastic enclosure material for practical industrial use. Designed as a smaller and streamlined version of the RS2MQTT series for compact deployment.
